Oral presentations
Presenters are allowed 15 minutes for presentation (inclusive of 2 minutes for Question and Answers).
The following material is available for the speakers: one computer/video projector 16:9, a microphone, a lectern, and a pointing device. The software installed on the computer includes:
- Windows 7
- MS Office 2013 Professional (Power Point, Word)
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Windows Media Player 12
The media player is only available with standard codecs. Use of standard True Type fonts is suggested for PowerPoint presentations. In the case that a ppt contains a video or animation, please ensure that both files (Power Point and video - MPG AVI) are in the same folder.
Presentations from personal laptops are not allowed, to ensure a smooth programme running and to minimise the transition time between presentations.
Presentations shall be uploaded to the computer in the session room (Magellan or Room Cook) before session start. The Conference PPT can be downloaded HERE
Lightning Talks
A lightning talk is meant to be a brief and light approach to your topic in a more informal and lively environment - followed by time for 1 question from the audience.
The duration of each Lightning Talk is 3 minutes sharp. After the 3 minutes the presentation will be stopped and the next speaker will be invited on stage.

To ensure a smooth programme running and to minimise the transition time between presentations, presentations from personal laptops are strictly not allowed and speakers are suggested to take seats in the Big Hall, close to the stage .
Presentations have to be loaded on the computer in the Big Hall by lunch time on the day of the presentation.
Additionally, in order to give further visibility on your work, we also invite you to provide a video by September 18, which will be uploaded to the ESA's EO Open Science YouTube Channel and will be on display on a dedicated screen during the event.
The contents and format of the video are left to the creativity of the presenter: we expect screen records of powerpoint presentations, close-up speeches taken with mobile phones as well as advanced videos, animations and sounds. Standard video formats like .avi, .mov, .wmv, .mp4 ... are expected. Video duration shall not exceed 2 minutes and its size shall not exceed 500 MB.
Each video shall be delivered to eoopenscience@esa.int via "wetransfer" (www.wetransfer.com) by September 18th , in order to ensure its publication and diffusion by the date of the workshop.
